Underwriters Laboratories Inc is a US privately owned and operated product safety testing and certification organization. UL develops standards and test procedures for most wire and cable product sold for consumption in the US and North America.
The Canadian Standards Association is a not-for-profit membership-based association maintaining many styles and standards for wire and cable both similar to and complementary to UL's standards.
The Regulation, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals is an initiative of the European Union Chemicals Agency to regulate select Substances of Very High Concern in the EU. IEWC actively works with its supplier partners to ensure that its many wire, cable and wire management products comply with this developing regulation.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances is another European Union directive. The directive restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and other hazardous substances in final products. IEWC currently carries RoHS compliant wire and cable products wherever they are available.
